Erik Lujan-Berman holds a degree in Musical Arts from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA) in Buenos Aires, specializing in Orchestral Conducting under Luis Gorelik and Violin under Hernán Cupeta.
He made his operatic debut conducting Hänsel und Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck, in a production by Marta Blanco, performed by the UNA Academic Orchestra and the DAMus Opera Company at the Haroldo Conti Cultural Center and Espacio Caffarena in 2022.
Since 2023, he has been selected to participate in advanced orchestral conducting seminars led by renowned conductors Ligia Amadio and Emmanuel Siffert, conducting the Argentine National Symphony Orchestra in the final concert of the seminar. In 2024, he was awarded the Programa Formadores grant by the National Arts Fund (FNA) to lead conducting seminars in Tucumán, Argentina.
In 2025, he was selected to study at the Panula Academy in Helsinki, Finland, with maestro Jorma Panula. He was also a finalist in the 4th National Competition for Young Orchestra Conductors organized by Fundación Cultural Patagonia. Winner of the Mozarteum Argentino Scholarship 2025.
As a violinist, he was concertmaster and soloist with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the National University of Tucumán (UNT) under Gustavo Guersman in 2016. From 2017 to 2022, he was a member of the National Youth Symphony Orchestra "Libertador San Martín," led by Mario Benzecry, serving as concertmaster during the 2019 season.
Since 2021, he has served as assistant conductor and violin instructor with the UNA Academic Orchestra "Carlos López Buchardo." Since 2022, he has also worked as assistant conductor to Mario Benzecry at the National Youth Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to his artistic work, he carries out an active mentoring practice and pedagogical work, offering personalized training in orchestral conducting to musicians and conductors from around the world. His approach combines gestural technique, interpretative analysis, and expressive development, with the aim of enhancing each student’s artistic growth and guiding them in their evolution as performers and musical leaders.
He is currently furthering his conducting studies with Luis Gorelik and Emmanuel Siffert.
